Why Volunteer?
Volunteers make it happen! Volunteering can provide an expression of love and bring hope to many children who otherrwise have not seen the unconditional giving of others. Volunteering can give an individual a sense of purpose and self-fulfillment, as well as, a connection to the needs of the community-at-large. Volunteering gives you an opportunity to build social networks, reduce personal stress and improve you own psychological health.
Jonah's Joy depends on individuals who are giving of their time and talents to make an impact on at-risk children and their families. Volunteers can assist the Jonah's Joy staff in maintaining the day-to-day administrative tasks, helping to organize and promote events, as well as assisting at the several fundraisers held throughout the year. Sometimes volunteers can help behind the scenes by providing services from their businesses, i.e. helping with printing, promoting, or even hosting events.
In the near future, Jonah's Joy will need assistance with hands and skills to build the home and landscaping the grounds. Yearly maintenance of the home and grounds will be a blessing of safety and support for the children served.
Who should Volunteer?
Jonah's Joy welcomes volunteers to help with a variety of administrative work and with fundraising events. With the completion of a background check some opportunites to work directly with the children are also available. If you are someone with a warm, empathetic, and flexible personality, who cares for the well-being of children and wants to make a generational difference in the lives of at-risk children and their families, then you should consider volunteering. Volunteers should have a strong sense of integrity and reliablility, and be a team player.
